Easy Vegan Hot Cocoa

Nothing says warm and cozy like a good cup of hot cocoa. All you need is unsweetened cocoa, sweetener, and non-dairy milk to get you going. Need more decadence? Add a good read, a comfortable chair, and wrap yourself in a warm blanket.

Non-Dairy Hot Cocoa

  • 1 cup non-dairy milk
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 to 2 tbsp sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla


  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together the cocoa, sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons of your non-dairy milk over low heat until the cocoa and sugar are dissolved.
  2. Whisk in the remaining milk and continuing heating over a medium heat.
  3. Whisk occasionally until hot.
  4. Stir in vanilla and pour into a mug.
  5. Enoy!
